RESTORE: A 3 WEEK SERIES
NOVEMBER 6TH - 20TH, 2019
WEDNESDAYS @ 7:30PM - 9:00PM
WITH SONA

This three-week series will explore the experience of Restorative Yoga, a deeply restful practice that emphasizes nurturing holds in simple, supported postures.  This is a practice that invites us to move into a state of being, which is the heart of yoga and meditation.  In being there is a deeper knowing, but to access this we must be willing to let go of our agenda.  Instead of placing our attention on stretching or sensation, we focus on cultivating space, remaining open and still. For some, this may be the most advanced practice of all.

In this series, Sona will lead you through restorative sequences, each designed for a specific energetic result. We will practice all categories of asanas— backbends, forward bends, side bends, twists and inversions—in a completely receptive manner through the support of bolsters, blankets, straps, blocks and eye pillows. The props offer a sense of being held, which helps to facilitate a slow and quiet opening through the body, subtle body and mind, bringing healing to deeply patterned tensions. Postures are held from 5-20 minutes, designed to maximize comfort and allow practitioners to fully let go.

Restorative yoga is the perfect antidote for a busy life. It is a highly beneficial practice for anyone seeking to slow down, unwind and reset; for those seeking to balance more active practices; or, for those experiencing injury, loss, trauma, anxiety, or illness. Research has shown that the practice of restoration soothes the nervous system, restores our energy and fundamentally builds resiliency at all levels, giving us more focus and efficacy in daily life.

Join Sona for 3 weeks dedicated to nourishing your being.  All levels and abilities welcome!
